This Payment & Cancellation Policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions and applies to every booking made directly with Crystal View Mykonos. Please read it carefully before you pay: by completing a booking you confirm that you accept it.
1. Payment options
When you book on our Website you can choose one of two options. The amount due now and any balance due at the property are shown clearly before you pay and in your booking confirmation.
- Deposit. For stays of more than 3 nights you pay 50% of the total price of the stay at booking. For stays of up to 3 nights you pay an amount equal to one night, calculated as the average nightly price of your stay. The remaining balance is paid at the property on arrival.
- Pay in full. You pay the total price of the stay at booking and have nothing further to pay for the stay itself at the property, apart from the Climate Crisis Resilience Fee and any extra services you request.
Any discount code is applied to the price of the stay before the deposit is calculated.
2. Online payment
- Online payments are processed by Viva (Viva.com), a regulated European payment services provider. You enter your card details on Viva's secure, PCI-DSS compliant payment page. We never see, receive or store your full card details.
- The cards accepted are those shown on the payment page. Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment with strong customer authentication (for example 3-D Secure).
- All amounts are charged in euro (EUR). Any currency conversion, foreign transaction or other fees charged by your bank or card issuer are your responsibility and are not refunded.
- Your suite is held for you for a limited time (currently 20 minutes) while you pay. If payment is not completed within that time, the hold lapses and no booking is made. If a payment fails, no money is taken; any temporary authorisation that your bank shows is released by your bank in line with its own timescales.
- Your booking is confirmed only when the payment succeeds and we send you a confirmation email.
- You must be the cardholder or be authorised by the cardholder to use the card. To prevent fraud we may ask, before or at check-in, for proof that the payment was authorised, and we may cancel the booking or refuse check-in if fraud is reasonably suspected.
3. Balance and charges at the property
- If you paid a deposit, the remaining balance is due on arrival, before you are given access to the suite.
- The balance and any other amounts due at the property can be paid by debit or credit card, or in cash up to the limit allowed by Greek law for cash transactions.
- The Climate Crisis Resilience Fee (Τέλος Ανθεκτικότητας στην Κλιματική Κρίση) is imposed by Greek law per room and per night, is not included in the price and is payable at the property on arrival, whichever payment option you chose.
- Extra services you request at the property, and any charges under our House Rules (for example for damage or smoking indoors), are payable at the property.
4. Cancellation, changes and no-show
All direct bookings are non-refundable. This applies to both payment options and to bookings made with a discount code. Accordingly:
- Cancellation by you: if you cancel at any time, for any reason, the amount you paid at booking is retained in full and not refunded. If you paid a deposit and cancel before arrival, you will not be asked to pay the remaining balance.
- No-show: if you do not arrive (see the no-show rule in our Terms & Conditions), the amount paid is retained in full and the booking is cancelled.
- Early departure or shortened stay: the full price of the stay remains payable. No refund or credit is given for unused nights, and if you paid a deposit the full balance is still due.
- Changes: you are not entitled to change the dates, suite or number of guests of a confirmed booking. We may agree to a change at our sole discretion and subject to availability; any price difference must be paid and, if the new price is lower, the difference is not refunded. A changed booking remains non-refundable. Please send any request to info@crystalviewmykonos.gr.
- Reasons beyond your control, such as illness, cancelled or delayed flights or ferries, strikes or bad weather, do not entitle you to a refund. We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation and curtailment.
Because we take the suite off sale for your dates as soon as you book, non-refundable terms let us offer our best direct prices. You see and accept these conditions before you pay. Under Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU, no 14-day right of withdrawal applies to accommodation booked for specific dates.
5. Cancellation by us
- If we have to cancel your booking for reasons on our side, or if circumstances (including force majeure) make it impossible for us to provide the accommodation, we will refund in full all amounts you paid for the nights we cannot provide or, if you prefer, offer you alternative dates or equivalent accommodation.
- We may also cancel a booking with a full refund in the cases set out in section 3 of our Terms & Conditions (for example an obvious pricing error or suspected fraud).
- If we end a stay because of a serious breach of our House Rules, no refund is due.
- To the extent permitted by law, our liability in these cases is limited to the refund of the amounts paid.
6. How refunds are made
Where a refund is due under this Policy, it is made only to the original payment method, within 14 days of our decision. The time it takes for the money to appear on your account depends on your bank. We do not make refunds in cash or to a different card or account. Bank charges, currency conversion and exchange-rate differences are not refunded.
7. Payment disputes and chargebacks
If you have a question or concern about a payment, please contact us first at info@crystalviewmykonos.gr; most issues can be resolved quickly.
When you book you confirm that you have seen and accepted the non-refundable conditions of this Policy. If a valid charge is disputed with your card issuer, we will provide the issuer with evidence of the booking, including your acceptance of our Terms & Conditions and of this Policy, the booking details and our communications with you. Where a chargeback is unjustified, we reserve the right to claim the amount due together with the reasonable costs incurred, to the extent permitted by law, and to refuse future bookings.
8. Receipts and invoices
We issue a receipt or invoice for every payment in line with Greek tax law. If you need an invoice in the name of a company, please give us the company name, VAT number and address in the comments of your booking or by email before check-in; documents that have already been issued may not be changeable.
9. Bookings through third parties
If you booked through a third party (for example Booking.com, Expedia or a travel agent), the payment and cancellation conditions you accepted on that platform apply instead of sections 1 to 6 of this Policy, and any refund is handled by that third party under its own terms.
